That is a very difficult question to answer, especially for someone who is not a video game lover already. Video game shooters are, plain and simple, addicting! Shooters are by far the most popular style of video game: halo, gears of war, Call of Duty, left 4 dead, etc. I dont think there is any real way to explain why so many people like video game shooters so much. If you haven't already, try playing some shooters and you may understand what all the fuss is about!

Also with adding the option of co-op playing (especially online) it adds another tier of entertainment and enjoyment with people able to play with friends and other people.
