Why do people look things up on WikiAnswers instead of using Google which is quicker?

Because people want direct human contact answers! It simply is that way. You can't talk to a search engine and get every little detail you want! If you plug it into Google you will also get all the results which have the words you plugged in! That's no help! People siply will rely on other people, not a search engine, for true facts and all the facts they want in one. Wiki could save you time in a long run because you can ask more than one question in one. In Google you must type in something, search it with good keywords, then find it in like, a billion results, then find your answer on a website, then go back and start over. I hope I've helped. I'm only 12 but I tend to give deep answers! Good luck, and think about this, why did you use wiki answers instead of Google?

WikiAnswers Instead of GoogleMany people have asked the question about Googling instead of asking a question on WikiAnswers, but if it's a stupid question like, "What is lk;ahsd;fjhkdjhkh?" there are much more productive ways to use your time whether you use WikiAnswers or Google. If it's a question that you really want an answer to and does not violate our TOU and Guidelines, you should ask it here instead of Googling because WikiAnswers is a lot more fun than Google! Not only that, but we're building the largest Q&A site on the Web, and that's an exciting thing to be a part of.
Why don't people search Google before asking questions on WikiAnswers?
You have to remember that many people here do not understand how Search Engines like Google, and therefore cannot use such sites. If everyone used Google or sites like that instead of asking us, it would partially defeat the object of WikiAnswers. The above is not entirely true, because there are certain answers that cannot be found by using a simple google search. However, most of the questions on WikiAnswers have terrible grammar and can just be googled. It's pretty sad.

Or, for a quicker way, you could just email or post a message to any supervisor or community assistant, and they will help out.
