Why do people move to Mexico from another country?

In the case of people from South American and Southeast Asian countries, they are looking for better economic and social conditions. For instance, even though Mexico is considered an undeveloped country, it has much better living conditions than most of Latin America, with the exception of Chile and Paraguay.

People from the United States, Canada and even some Europeans prefer Mexico because it is much cheaper and in some regions, safer than their home countries. For example, the Yucatan peninsula (home of Cancun, the Mayan Riviera and Chichen Itza) has a murder rate of only 1.7 per 100,000 inhabitants. This number is slightly lower than Canada's average of 2.1
