Why are people not against animal testing?

People feel a compassion for animals. They are worried that the animals are getting hurt or they are not being treated humanely. They care about the animals' welfare. They feel that animals should not be made sick or hurt or killed for medical research that benefits people.

Testing on animals is torturing and it is wrong/evil to do such a thing that is why they object.

Actually it is not torturing since animals used in animal research and testing usually live longer since there not eaten by other animals and if there was no animal testing millions of unborn and sick people will die due to diseases that can be cured through animal testing

Many people are against animal testing because they consider it to be cruel and unjust. Certain cosmetic companies tested their cosmetics on animals before attempting to sell them to the general public and those tested animals got infections and diseases and some even died.

Since companies can now be a lot more precise in their methods of manufacturing and producing their goods, they can also make sure that such problems do not occur and thus do not need to test on animals because their products are presumably safe.

Mainly, because of the ethical issues involved. Animal testing often causes incredible suffering among animal test subjects. Although most lab animals are treated well, there is a category of animal tests that is deemed to cause 'substantial' suffering to subjects. These include surgeries where the animal is conscious and feeling pain during the procedure: vivisection.

Even without substantial suffering involved, there is the debate about whether it is right or wrong to exploit other living beings for the sake of humans. The idea of this argument is that if animals are close enough to people to be tested on, then it is not morally right to test on them, because they are close to people.

Animal testing has many failings as well, linked to the fact that animals are not people, no matter how similar they may seem physiologically. Animal testing has led to much HUMAN death due to the amount of drugs deemed safe for animals, but turned out to be toxic to humans. On the other side of things, drugs such as Valium that were safe for humans were held back greatly because they were dangerous to animals.

People object to animal testing because it is a cruel practice. It involves pouring chemicals into living animals eye's and down their throats, forcing them to suffer.
