Therefore your energy can be depleted. However, lack of energy can be a sign of more serious issues such as anemia or thyroid problems. No. Lack of sleep causes drowsiness, but not lack of energy. It may cause loss of cencentration, hearing and seeing things in an extreme case, but not lack of energy. Lack of calories is lack of energy.
