Psychologists earn less money than Psychiatrists make. The highest earning Psychologists make around 102,000 dollars yearly which is alot more than the lowest earning Psychologists make which is less than 35,000 yearly.
yes. you need more schooling for psychiatry and i believe it's an extra 2-4 years. they will always get paid more because they are able to perscribe medicine.
Depends on your point of view. Psychiatrists are more highly educated and are qualified doctors specialising in mental health, however a psychologist is more concerned with the theory and application of psychological techniques. A psychologist is more concerned with counselling techniques, whilst a psychiatrist is more concerned with medical issues and prescribing medication.
For what? I would take the child to a pediatrician and get a referral if the doctor thought it necessary. If you mean as far as a career is concerned, pediatricians do more good, psychiatrists probably make more money.
sonu umm.....i dont know.... but who cares
Psychiatrists are medical physicians (D.O., MBBS, or M.D.), and can prescribe medicine, they tend to offer shorter term treatment, often limited to solving crisis situations. psychologists often are involved in testing, like IQ, ADD, etc. psychotherapists like to help you by talking it out, helping you grow up, learn from your past, move on, taking more time to do it.
psychiatrists generally make 100,000+ forensic psychiatrist make much, much more maybe in the 200,000s+ but if you want to get a job in that field, do it because you love it and want to help people and not just for the money because if you do it for the money, you'll get sick of it
Yes. However, this condition is even more widely understood by physiologists, sleep disorder specialists, psychiatrists, and physicians in general.
Society can always use another psychiatrist! As our world gets more complex and stressful there is a great need for moe psychiatrists/psychologists. Personally, I prefer psychologists because they study more of human behavior and can't prescribe drugs (but can suggest a drug to the patient's GP) and a psychiatrist studies more medications (people are becoming much for questioning about the drugs they put in their body today) than human behavior. The bottom line is, don't just go into this profession for the money, but to really help people get well. Even this board has helped many people and they'll confide to us (because they don't know us) what is bothering them and really, psychiatrists/psychologist aren't much different.
no they do not earn more than psychologists
Psychiatrists or psycologists. Psychiatrists work more with medicine. Psychologist work more with therapy.
in the NHS- starting salaries are £25,000 and go up to £80,000+ for more senior positions.
