Why are people disrespectful?

• There are so many different variables as to why some people have no respect for others and here are a few: the individual in a product of their own environment (brought up that way or, as an adult has become self absorbed); technology is a wonderful thing, but with the internet; Blackberries, i Pods, etc., some people are so into technology they have disconnected themselves from physically being capable of corresponding properly on a face-to-face basis in society.

This is a hard question to answer as not all people are disrespectful. The main reason is probably people think they are superior and don't feel the people they are disrespectful to deserve their respect. Some people can do it unintentially as they were not taught to be respectful. If you really want to know and if you are talking about a specific person you should anaylise them.

Rudeness is generally a habit. People can become rude if they feel threatened by another, if they feel superior to another, if they simply want to push the other away. The rude person can feel mad, sad, scared, shy, or any of a number of other emotions.

Keep in mind too that rudeness perceived in others may have nothing to do with the disposition of the one perceived. The perceivor may be the only source. That is, the person who perceives the rudeness may be mistaken or misreading the behavior of another.
