there are wear indicators on both inner front pads on this car. when the pads wear to a certain point (about 3/32") the indicator rubs on the rotor, causing a squeak. when youre driving, the torque from the axle distorts the position of the rotor in relationship to the sensor. it just so happens in this case that when youre in reverse, the rotor tends to bend toward the sensor. when in drive, it bends away.
The friction between 2 objects makes them squeak
The brakes can squeak, the suspension can squeak, the steering can squeak, the wheel hub/bearings can squeak, have a trusted mechanic determine the source of the squeak.

Actually, automobile brakes squeak under several circumstances. The most common include pad or shoe wear and/or glazed rotors or shoes.
Brakes sometimes squeak because of dust build up. In disc pads there is also a thin metal plate designed to squeal when you need new pads. You should check your pads. Brakes can aslo squeak when wet after a rain, (can get flash rust), but it should go away after a few stop.
TO MAKE BMX BREAKS SQUEAK TAKE ALL OF THE GREASE OFF OF THE BREAK. IF YOU DONT WANT IT TO SQUEAK YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD LOADS OF OIL AND GREASE. =p

It is most likely that the cars brakes are bad.
I just got a complete overhaul on my brakes and a week later they started squeaking so I called the shop and he said the brake pads need to be sanded with an abrasive disk or flexible honing brush.

Check for looseness or play in the joint Do you hear a "Ping" when shifting from Park- Drive or Reverse? Do you hear a "Squeak, Squeak, Squeak" when driving down the road?

Can you give more detail? Is it squeak, squeak, squeak or squeeeeeeek? I'm assuming that it only occurs when the car is moving. Does putting the brakes on make it change? --Ken It does make squeeeeek sound when car is moving and putting brakes on does change it.
My 2007 Murano has squeaky brakes when I first start out, usually in the morning or after sitting for awhile. After a minute or so, the squeak goes away. The brakes work fine.
brakes squeeks can be caused by dust and dirt on the brakes, but usually on a chev, this is caused by the brake pads,with the removal of asbestos and the adding of more metal to compensate, chev brakes are renowned for this problem
Well, I really don't know, but my 2003 GT has the same problem from 1st to 2nd. I've tried WD-40 on the lever mechanism and it doesn't seem to have any effect. The squeak is still there, and nothing else has happened, since nothing has broken I have just let it be!
If the brakes on a Mazda 6 are squeaking, it could be indicative of a problem. The brake pads could be incorrectly set.

you have a squeaky fanbelt..it either needs replacing or oiling
worn pads change your brake pads and get your rotors machined while your at it
you can tell when your breaks start to Squeak or the car wont slow down when turning
