A weak alternator and/or battery.
Most likely they are burned out and need to be replaced.
Have your Alternator tested. Sounds like the entire engine is running off just the battery.
I had a problem with my headlights going off, not the high beams. Replaced the rectangular silver can thingy at the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side. I put a higher rated one in, which is a no no, but it solved the problem of the headlights going out.
Headlights have two filaments, one for dim, one for bright. From your description it appears that one of the high beam filaments is burned out. Replace the bulb.
The Kia Sorrento instrument panel lights go on and off with the headlights. The headlights go on with an automatic daylight sensor.

i would assume you need to turn your headlights off as they are the most common reason for the beeping after you turn off the car. My headlights are off and the car is still beeping
You can with some vehicles. Consult the drivers manual.
The headlights go up and down when you turn the headlights on. If they are not going up or down they may be disconnected from the motor. You would have to take the headlights out to see if they are disconnected or not.
its to conserve power to start veh. with full voltage to starter headlights will come on after starting car
If there are not "short's to ground", you probably have a faulty circuit breaker for the headlights.
Bad connection, bad ground, switch problem check the bulb are places to start
generally at night.
i found it to be the tail light harnesses go bad . a common problem with them because the bulb sockets short out.
