Stars do not blink. They appear to blink, or twinkle, because of disturbances in earth's atmosphere. That is one reason observatories are usually built at high elevations. The thinner the atmosphere, the less likely that disturbances will degrade images.
stars look like there blinking because they are constantly exploding.

nope the stars doesn't blink....they blink here when seen in the earth because there are so many air particles here in earth so when those particles went through those stars it will be gone for a second a it will come back so it looks like it blinks!!!:)) The atmosphere contains many things from dust, ash from long dead volcanos and vater vapor. The water vapor causes the stars light to be prismatic, or go through a few color changes as it reaches your eyes. The blinking sensation is from the light passing through this vapor and your eyes trying to focus on this light as it changes color frequencies. The term is twinkling, as in twinkle, twinkle, little star. See the related link for more information.

Stars flash because the starlight is being distorted by atmospheric dust particles and such. This puts a slight bend in the starlight so when the light hits you, the light is bent. Therefore, to us the star appears to be flashing.

(I actually have not much of an idea why they to flash/twinkle. I kinda just pulled it out of my ass as i went along really. Although i did add a little knowledge.)

Stars burn at different temperature's. This gives a star its color. According to science it is not possible to blink different colors! The temps which create the color very in drastic measures. The only possible cause could be Earths atmosphere. But under observation, all surrounding stars play by the rules of science. So What are they, or is it causing certain stars in the night sky to display beautiful red. green. blue. white light show? Star clusters. My best guess.

Stars don't actually blink, either. The fact that they appear to blink (we call it "twinkle") is because the light is scattered just a bit coming through the atmosphere. This causes stars to look like they jump around just a bit.
