Increasing the intensity of light will increase the number of photons arriving per second. Increasing intensity has no effect on photon energy.
If you vary only one quantity in an experiment, then the results will be related to that quantity. If you vary two or more quantities, then the results will be ambiguous; you will not know what variation is responsible for the observed result.
Resolving power of microscope is inversely related to the wavelength of the light used. So shorter the wavelength, greater the resolving power.
