Why do they make plain donuts if they only taste like air?
Customers Purchase Them and That Is 101 In Business. My family was in the donut business for years, and their top seller was the old-fashioned plain donut. It actually tasted a bit sweet (vanillerish) and was lovingly made by hand, unlike today's commercially processed donuts.
For the most part, donuts are relatively unhealthy. Most have added sugar, glazes, chocolate, sprinkles, and so on to make them look better and taste sweeter, which makes the donuts more temptingly appealing. However, all it does it add extra sugar, fat and calories. Plain dounts are not terrible, as it is like a doughy pastry. a more tart taste Improved answer: Not really. It doesn't really make much of a difference; but I actually use plain yogurt instead of sour cream. Also, plain yogurt would be better for you, for your health. Taste-wise, though, I think there's hardly a difference, unless your very sensitive in that way.
