Think of it this way... Most people take it as inherently true that grass is green, but in reality it is the process of the receptors in our eyes detecting specific photons reflected off the grass and the way our brain processes that signal which gives us the illusion of its color. To a life-form which processes spacial awareness using echolocation grass would not appear as green, nor any other color in our visual spectrum.
The concept of color and meaning are both inventions of the mind and consciousness, this does not make them any less real. Meaning found in religion has had some of the most profound impacts on society, and people giving meaning to luxury has stimulated economies. Doesn't the fact that these creations of the mind have instigated so many events make them real?
The better question is... Do we place meaning in the right place?
To better understand this concept study than yin-yang, which symbolizes the harmony of the masculine and feminine forces in reality. One force seeks meaning while the other creates, but ultimately both are contained together and inside one another.
If you find yourself asking this question, know that meaning ultimately can only come from within yourself. Like meaning... happiness, love, appreciation and perception are products of the imagination and under your control. Never forget to appreciate all the beauty around you.
No one knows.
However the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle of Quantum Mechanics prohibits there from being nothing. But that something did not necessarily have to become a universe, it just had to be "not nothing".
If you believe in God, it makes sense to believe that the Universe does have a purpose. From the Bahá'à prayers: "I bear witness, O my God, that Thou hast created me to know Thee and to worship Thee. ..." I would say the purpose of the Universe is to have creatures, some of which are spiritual creatures that believe in God. Not because God wants to be flattered, but for our own good.
evolution is a change over time. yes it does have a purpose because we need to now how it happed and what were the changes
humans have been living on the universe for a long time, apparantely in the old days they had to eat poo in the army how gross is that anyway stuff this
Awed firstly. A realization that egois meaningless. When I look at the Universe I see myself and no longer alone
That's a meaningless question.
A trillion years is 1,000,000,000,000 years. In astronomy, it is probably a meaningless concept, because according to our current understanding of the universe, space and time began with the Big Bang around 14 billion years ago. So, looking back, there is no 15 billion years or more in astronomy. Looking forward, there is too much uncertainty about the amount of matter in the universe to judge whether it will continue to expand and eventually burn away, or reverse into a big crunch which may be followed by Big Bang 2. However, there will be no link between our universe and universe 2. So whichever way it works out, current theories suggest that the universe as we know it will not survive a trillion years. So many questions to answer, so little time!
Cell numbers are going to vary nobody can count all those cells, Hair cells, skin cells, heart cells, BLOOD cells, Its probably TRILLIONS, the Human body is like a Universe to cells, so counting or knowing numbers are meaningless
The question as asked is meaningless.
Awed firstly. A realization that egois meaningless. When I look at the Universe I see myself and no longer alone
The question is essentially nonsense. The universe is the universe. It contains galaxies. There's no underlying "structure" to how the galaxies fit together, so it's more or less meaningless to talk about "how they make up the universe."
According to the best scientific theories, this is both unanswerable and meaningless, as time is considered to have come into existence simultaneously with the universe. There was no "before" the universe. However, even if there was, there's no way we could ever know anything about it.
A philosophy, often translated into art forms, holding that humans exist in a meaningless, irrational universe and that any search for order by them will bring them into direct conflict with this universe.
No because the universe keeps on growing every day.
Douglas Adams In his book "The Restaurant at The End of The Universe" It refers to the Total Perspective Vortex which would show you the whole universe and just how meaningless and tiny you were. Thus causing insanity.
meaningless
The black hole at the center of the GALAXY provides the centripetal force that causes the galaxy to rotate. Yeah, everything is slowly spiraling inward, but it's happening very very very slowly. There's no way to orient the universe in a way that you can find the center. We are at the center of our personal observable universe, but that's meaningless.
A person who goes by the nickname Existentialist on WriteSomething. That's the first place I rant into it.
Meaningless - album - was created in 2000.
Lexi said,"That sentence was meaningless right?"
Wait... do you mean meanless or meaningless? If it's meaningless, then... The sentence I just made is meaningless.
