Vagina is the entry to the females sexual organs; it allows for reproduction. It's part of what defines a female as female (along with her ability to make eggs)

Much like how a male is defined as being a male in part by having the ability to produce sperm. Sperm produce by a male is put into a females body through her vagina and there attaches to an egg.

Without a sperm from a male and an egg from a female there can be no children and without children the human race dies and no longer exists. Without the vagina entrance there is no way for the sperm to meet the egg.

So, why do women have a vagina? to allow humans to mate and continue existing.
