Why do paper cuts don't bleed a lot but always hurt a lot?
The reason paper cuts don't usually bleed is because it doesn't cut down into the skin deep enough, but still deep enough to slice the nerves. Paper cuts are so microscopic, they are able to cut into the Epidermis, the outer layer of skin, where nerves are located. The paper cuts the nerve ending, which is the reason for the extreme pain.
