Well in the first place this shouldn't happen. If it does then you probably ate some contaminated beef.

If you reacted very soon after eating a steak it's unlikely to be due to food contamination involving that particular meal.

You might have eaten something earlier, possibly the previous day, that has affected you, or you might have been suffering from some kind of gastric problem.

If you continue to have symptoms whenever you eat, or whenever you eat particular foods, you need to check with a doctor.

Steaks should be cooked to at least 100 degrees Celsius. However, some people sometime cook their steaks below the supposed temperature, not killing all of the bacteria there.
