Why do you get unsupported format error message when trying to play any DVD?

Well you can get this message for a number of reasons. One reason could be that the iris that reads the DVD could be dirty and needs to be cleaned. You can do this easily by buying a cleaning kit. Then there is a rare exeption whitch is that you have a DVD that is formatted diffrently than what your DVD player can read. And the only way to fix this is to buy a new DVD player.

well, what is the file format of the video? depending on the file format, you'll need various codecs to play the video back... also, if you are trying to watch the video ON a cell phone, odds are you will never be able to watch it on that cell phone- the codecs aren't easily updated on cell phones.

This is a typical error message suggesting that their is something wrong with the USB. I would recommend trying it in a different computer, if you get the same message try formatting it if you still get the same message, i think you may be out of luck unfortunately. To format it, just right click on the USB icon in My Computer and then hit format, WARNING - formatting will erase all data on the USB.
