A flower girl is not needed to be in a wedding, but it is a tradition. The flower girl is usually a young girl, that walks down the aisle before the bride. She drops flower, and is the reason why the aisles become covered with the usually white satin material that covers the floor, All this is done to get things ready for the bride to walk down the aisle and it looks really pretty.

Well Im 13 and im a flowergirl for an upcoming wedding! So I'd say from around 5 to 15 years old. Normally they are young girls, but when you dont know or dont have a young girl in your family, you can go to as old as 15 or just go without a flower girl. Hope it helped, :)
