If you mean why do lesbians like other lesbians, it's because they feel more comfortable with women rather than men and feel attracted to them for similar reasons to why men are attracted to women. But lesbians like other women as a woman loves another woman, so it's not the same as a man loving a woman.

Actually, it has nothing to do with the lesbians. Beauty -- and appeal -- are in the eye of the beholder. For some men, sex between women may represent the ultimate mystery: there is absolutely no way to experience it directly. It may also be related to voyeurism, but without the competitive pressure or disturbing implications of another man.

Truthfully, no one really knows why anyone is drawn or attracted to members of the same gender.

There is evidence that suggests there may be a genetic component. It could be related to hormone release during gestation and fetal development. It could be psycho-social. It could be a conscious or unconscious choice. Or, it could be, and likely is, a combination of some or all of these, and potentially other variables.

What we can answer is that heterosexuals are attracted to the opposite gender as a component of the survival instinct and drive to procreate. That is clearly not an option (directly or without some degree of surrogacy) for same gender couples. Here's the issue: some people are personally or morally opposed to same gender relationships, for whatever reason. The fact is that these relationships aren't anyone's business or concern other than those immediately and intimately involved. Now that goes both ways. It is no one's place to cast judgment on anyone who is part of a same gender relationship, AND no one really needs to hear about the details from those involved; personal relationships are just that, personal. It would be inappropriate for heterosexuals to cast about broadcasting the gritty details of their relationships. It is no less inappropriate for anyone else regardless of with whom they find themselves in a relationship. So perhaps it is time to simply live and let live, accept what you cannot understand.

By all means, continue to explore and develop understanding of the human condition. Expand knowledge. But, let's keep it academic.
