in the case of communication through gsm technology we transmit our voice frequency to somewhere from the origin. normally human voice frequency lays between 300-3400khz. if all the people tends to transmit their voice, the signal wil be distroyed due to interference. also theoretically it need a very long antenna to transmit a low frequency. therefore it is necessary to modulate each and every signal to a high frequency carrier to transmit without any interference and make possible communication

What is square law diode modulator?

Methods of amplitude modulation can be put in the two categories namely Linear modulation methods and Square law modulation methods. Linear modulation method utilizes the linear region of the current voltage characteristics of the amplifying device that is transistor or electron tube. Square law modulation method utilizes the square law region of some current voltage characteristics of a diode or transistor or electron tube. A large number of linear modulation methods have been devised and have been used to varying degree. These methods are namely linear shunt plate modulation or anode choke modulation, linear series plate modulation, grid bias modulation, cathode modulation, suppressor grid modulation, screen grid modulation, collector modulation. Square law modulation circuits make use of non linear current voltage characteristics of diodes or triodes and are in general suited for use at low voltages. Important square law modulation methods are square law diode modulation and balanced modulator.

Why amplitude modulation is used for video transmission?

IF we use frequency modulation for transmitting video signal this can cause phase shifting .and eyes can percieve this distortion effect easly . and requires more bandwidth to send the signal .Color levels are adjusted by amplitude in TV .So it s more logic to use Amplitude modulation .

How velocity modulation and density modulation related to each other?

due to velocity modulation density modulation occurs in TWT

What is the unit for modulation index?

Modulation index is also called as Modulation depth. The modulation index of a modulation scheme describes by how much the modulated variable of the carrier signal varies around its unmodulated level.

Why do you use sigma delta modulation instead of adaptive delta modulation?

if we need simple transmitter and receiver, if we need low bandwidth
