Why do your interior lights come on when you open the trunk of your 2008 Buick lucerne?
I have a 2001 Buick Regal and in order to change the tail lights or Lic. plate lights you must first open the trunk lid. Now look inside the trunk lid you will see 8 or 9 plastic wingnuts, remove these wingnuts and the complete plastice panel can be removed from the trunk lid. Simply replace the buned out lights and reinstall the panel. TAL

It is probably a bad diode in the alternator. I just went through this with mine. I the battery runs down overnight then the battery may have a dead cell. It may also be something is on drawing power from the battery. Something like interior, under-hood, trunk, glove box lights. Can also be a stuck relay.

on a 1996 m.m. you open the trunk ...take the interior lining that is blocking the back of the lights off.....remove a few screws....push out and youll se that theres two clips on the outside ,unclip done!....now on the trunk there are four nuts to remove , and presto done.....please keep in mind that the lights have wires to disconnect..mess em up and your in trouble
Open the trunk, there should be some long and short screws with nuts on them right above your head. If you have a deep well socket (recommended), you just have to take the nuts off. Then slowly lower the trunk making sure the light assembly stays on the car. Take it off and you should have access to all the lights.
