Bilbo said, talking to himself, "what have i got in my pocket?" (it was the Ring). Gollum thought it was a riddle and Bilbo decided to make it one. he gave Gollum three chances to guess and gollum lost after four. then gollum went "to get something" (it was the ring), and Bilbo thought he was abandoned and left with the ring on. Gollum thought Bilbo knew the way out and he wanted to follow him, realizing Bilbo had the ring. Bilbo saw Gollum racing towards the gate and followed him to safety.
Bilbo asks Gollum "What's in my pocket" (the Ring) and Gollum cannot answer.
Bilbo is hairy, Gollum is not. Bilbo is sane, Gollum is not. Even though both are controlled by the One Ring, Bilbo is better able to resist it. Bilbo eats his fish cooked, Gollum "preferses" them raw and juicy.
Gollum, believing that Bilbo already knows the way out of the cave, leads an invisible Bilbo to the exit. Gollum also believed Bilbo to have his ring (his precious), so he fervently searched for him. However, Bilbo not knowing the way out of the tunnels, indeed found freedom by following Gollum. And indeed Bilbo did have the magic ring and was able to follow Gollum undiscovered because the ring made him invisible.
Bilbo recognized that Gollum used to be much like him, and that he had the potential to become just like Gollum. He knew the pull the ring had on Gollum.
Bilbo had put on his ring, so he was invisible. Gollum couldn't find him.
Gollum guesses that Bilbo has found his magic ring.
After Bilbo puts on the Ring and turns invisible, Gollum cannot find him, and thinks he has made his way towards the exit. Gollum heads to the exit and Bilbo follows him.
The ring gave Bilbo the power of invisibility that's y Gollum couldn't see him
Once Gollum found out that he couldn't find his ring and the odd question from Bilbo about ''Whats in my pocket?'' Riddle then he though Bilbo must have the ring so he went back over to Bilbo but he was gone... really he just had the ring on so he was invisable. Gollum thought that Bilbo found the way out of the cave so he went to the Exit of the cave which techniaclly lead Bilbo to the exit so Bilbo got out by using a skill which was the skill he came up with by Gollum.Riddlesanswering riddles so Gollum won't kill him
if Bilbo loses the riddles contest Gollum intended to eat him and take back "his precious" or the ring. Bilbo feels pitiful about Gollum whereas the goblins and trolls want him dead
Because Bilbo won it in his game of riddles with Gollum.
In the Hobbit Bilbo escapes from the cave because Gollum thinks that he found his ring and knew the way out. So Gollum started to go to the exit but Bilbo had put on his ring and followed Gollum to the exit. However Gollum was blocking the exit because he was searching desperetly so Bilbo had to jump over him to escape. Gollum noticed the wind fly past him though but he didn't manage to catch Bilbo
He hated him for taking the ring from him
He doesn't kill Gollum, Gollum dies in The Return Of The King by falling into Mount Doom with the one ring.
Bilbo finds himself in a cave after escaping the goblins. The cave is home to a creature who calls himself gollum. Gollum is in a mood because he has lost his precious(the ring in bilbo's pocket). Gollum challenges Bilbo to a riddles contest, if Bilbo loses Gollum gets to stew him in a pot and eat him. If Bilbo wins he gets to leave the cave uneaten. After a few riddles each bilbo realises Gollum is much better than himself, so cheats by asking "what is in my pocket?" When he faails to find the answer bilbo uses the ring to vanish from sight and escape.
Bilbo found both the ring and Gollum.
Depends. If Bilbo had willingly given up the ring, Gollum might have been to distracted with the return of "His Precious" to hurt Bilbo. If Bilbo fought for it though, Gollum would without a doubt have killed him in some gruesome manner.
Bilbo and Gollum enter into a riddle game. While trying to think of a riddle, Bilbo is fiddling around in his pocket, and he happens to feel the ring he had just picked up. He didn't think much about picking it up, so, while, trying to come up with a riddle, he mumbled, "What do I have in my pocket?" In spite of this not being a proper riddle for the riddle game, Gollum accepted it and asked for and received 3 tries to answer it. He failed, then went back to get the ring from where he thought he'd hidden it (actually, it had fallen off without his noticing). When he saw the ring was gone and remembered Bilbo's odd question, he put 2 and 2 together and deduced Bilbo had the ring in his pocket.I believe it was when Bilbo couldn't come up with a riddle, so he thought out loud the question: "What have I got in my pocket?" After Gollum realized he didn't have his ring, he then supposed that it was, indeed, in Bilbo's pocket.Because Gollum found him and would not tell him the way out until Bilbo gave him the Ring and Bilbo would not give him the ring untless he answered the riddles correctly.Gollum and bilbo have a game of riddles, bilbo asks, "what have I got in my pockets?" Bilbo and Gollum played riddles. If Gollum won he could eat Bilbo. If Bilbo won Gollum had to show Bilbo the way out of the cave.
Many people knew that the One Ring existed, but they didn't know that Bilbo had it, except for Gollum. Gandalf suspected that Bilbo had the ring, but he wasn't sure.
While running from Gollum Bilbo trips and the great ring of power "accidentially" slips onto his finger & he escapes while invisible.
Gollum promised to show Bilbo the way out if Bilbo won. And Gollum was going to eat Bilbo if he could.
Bilbo finds the ring that he later finds out belongs to Gollum who lost it. Gollum riddles with him in order to eat him, after bilbo asks him what is in his pocket he gets it after he helped bilbo get out of the mountain.
They are both hobbits, or at least Gollum was closely related. They were both used by the ring. They both lose a bit of their souls to the ring. And the ring gives them both unusual longevity. Gollum and Bilbo also appear to speak a similar dialect, or at least know the same language enough to communicate.
