it means that transmission is about to quit working that's what
I was told by a transmission shop that if the engine temperature doesn't get up to normal then a torq converter sensor will cause the converter to kick in and out, making it seem like the tranny is slipping. But, can anyone elaborate on this? thanks. lghall
A hard shift isn't always hard on a transmission. When a transmission shifts soft, it has to slip clutches and bands which causes the friction material to wear out faster. But if this concerns you, have the transmission vacuum modulator valve and vacuum line inspected as this controls the shift firmness.
That code is a transmission slip same code came on with my 96 Cutlass Supreme
Your transmission might slip on your ML320 because the transmission fluid is low or because the transmission is damaged. The most common cause of transmission slip is wearing of the transmission.
The most likely cause would be low fluid level.
Try changing you oil and if that does not help you will need to rebuild the tranny or replace it.
the slip yoke goes into the rear transmission seal
why does the transmission slip or shift hard on a gs Lexus 300 2001
There will be a plug on top rear of the transmission close to where it bolts to the engine. Use a funnel to pour it in with. Don't expect promising results, though.
On my 1997 Grand Cherokee Limited, you could feel the slip - especially after backing up first thing in the morning and then shifting into Drive. My dad has a 1995 and he had slip issues too.The fix was simple for both Jeeps - check the transmission fluid level. As little as one pint of lost fluid can make the transmission start slipping. It seems like such a small amount given the capacity of the transmission but filling to the correct level fixed the slip on both Jeeps.Do not over fill.It worked for me and might not for you - but it is a quick and inexpensive first thing to check.
I don't think so. The automatic transmission is controlled by engine speed, vehicle speed and throttle position. A large vacuum leak could effect throttle position, but it would cause other problems more noticable than the effect on transmission shifting. a vacuum leak mpuld not cause trasmission to slip but a band inside transmission would cause the problem
What would make my transmission slip on a Dodge truck when turning left
ofcourse
