'Knocking' is a technical term for fuel igniting too early in the combustion chamber.
It can be resolved by adding anti knock additives to the fuel or by retarding the timing at the relevant revs. Most modern engines have built in knock sensors that do this automatically.
there could be a problem with the timing of engine (ie) spark knock or bad gas
The noise ie engine due to bad quality of petrol
I had the same problem with a jeep wrangler and I replaced the throttle position sensor and that solved my problem.
Lucas (oil additive) it and pray..if its a rod just drive it easy..if it is spark knock use better gas. answer the door sorry bout that, but if engine is knocking is it at idle, under load, etc knocking can be caused by piston slap,(worn out rings),bad bearings,or simply have engine tuned, all depends where knock is coming from
Oil in the radiator indicates a possible severe problem, where coolant could also leak into the oil. Driving an engine in this situation at all could lead to severe engine damage.
Well it could be a number of things. If the car will not start or even turn over it may have seized the engine or spun a connecting rod bearing which is a major problem. If it does start up again and the loud noise continues, sounding like a knock u should not try to drive it to the shop. Shut it off and call a towing company. If it starts back up and doesn't make any noise it may be fine. Just keep an ear out for pinging and knocking sounds.
A malfunction has been detected in the ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM , could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem
If the knocking is when you hit a bump it could be your axle hitting the frame, or you need shorter swaybar links.Make sure your pinon angle is correct or you will were out your drive saft u-junts.
u knocking on it
Let the body out of the trunk, alternatively it could be a homeless man at the window.
Could be a rod knock. Your bearings slipping in the engine.
possibly distributor. tow to mechanic . if you drive , you could damage your engine.
The engines timing could be advanced to much. If it's a front wheel drive a CV joint could be going bad. Knowing a more precise area of where the sound is coming from might help to identify the problem.
Front Wheel Drive, could be bad CV Joints, Could be Control arm Bushings...
suspension of drivers licence.
If only one wheel is not turning, this would indicate a serious problem with that wheel. Depending on if it was a driven wheel or not, it could be a problem with the brake, the bearing, the differential or driveshaft. Continuing to drive will likely cause damage to tyre, wheel, suspension or drive. It is also likely to have severe effects on the vehicles handling.
May be a broken spring or support
it may be your wheel bearings or lug nuts also
If your car is shaking it could be poor suspension alignment can cause a car to shake and vibrate, and other possible causes are bent or worn suspension parts, old tires, bent wheels and bad brakes. If your car sounds especially rough at speed, the problem could lie with the car's spark plugs and wires. Spark plugs fire more frequently the faster you drive, and the engine will sound rough when they begin to fail.
