In case of emergency. It is an alternative if the proper exit is blocked. It applies to any place where people go in, and consequences of being trapped there are serious.

For example, a school bus has a front door that opens to the right side. If the bus were to roll onto that side, or crash into something that blocks the door, there must be another way to get out of the bus quickly. The rear door is situated at the opposite end and thus unlikely to be involved the same way the front door is.

What are the ways one can use an emergency exit from a school bus?

The three main ways are: -One opens the hatch located at the top of they bus and crawls out (this option makes sense if the bus is tipped over, or if the back and front of the bus are both blocked). -One can open the rear door of the bus and carefully make their way off the edge. This makes sense if the front half of the bus is obstructed. -One can open an emergency window and climb out of the bus.
