Democracy is purely based on consultation and discussion. A democratic decision always involves many persons, discussions and meetings. Democracy is in many ways an unsatisfactory form of government, and it often leads to bad results, but nonetheless, it is the best form of government that we have been able to devise so far; all the other are worse.
The only argument against Democracy is that it can be chaotic and its opposing parties can create political gridlock, but as Winston Churchill said, "Democracy is the worst possible form of government, except for every other kind."The arguments for democracy include a government by the majority that enjoys the support of the majority, while the arguments against democracy include instability caused by changing regimes and political competition and power play at the expense of morality.
Political instability-leaders keep changing frequently in a democracy.Political competition and power play-Democracy encourages political competition which in turn leads to corruption and power play.Lack of political awareness-Common people lack political awareness .Thus they can't decide what is best for them.Delay in decision making-As Democracy is based on consultation and discussion it leads to delayed decisions.Elected leaders do not know the best interest of the people.
Because a pure democracy leads to a dictatorship. Rather, a democracy based on limited government would allow everyone's rights to be respected. For example, in a pure democracy the minority (49.9999%) is subjected to the majority (50% plus 1) for example, in a pure democracy all the right-handed people could call for anyone left-handed to be executed and there would be nothing that the left-handed people could do to stop it. But with limited government, the government would be denied the right to execute people based on such silly things.
Often a major decisions leads to several smaller ones, sometimes called satellite decisions.
