Why does gas get into the oil of a 1955 GMC 4.2 vortec?

First I didn,t know they made a 4.2 vortec in 1955. This is obviously a spelling error. Second it sounds to me like a mechanical problem. My guess is that its not running to good. I could tell you more if I knew what year and make of car I don,t think it,s a 1955. Sorry need more detail info. I think you mean a 1995. I have seen many fuel pressure regulators go bad. Replace the CPI unit (injectors) under the upper manifold. they leak done and put gas in your oil, also i bet your vehicle is hard to start
