short in wire or fuse bad connection on the switch
AnswerYou have a defective heater resistor pack. Replace it.My 1992 Saturn has heat until you change the blower speed what is the problem?
heat works in back not in front front blows hot for a few mins then cold
If the blower motor only works on high speed, which in your case is speed 5, it is a definite that the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced. When choosing all the other speeds the current travels through a certain resistor, which in turn slows down the speed of the blower motor. High speed is direct 12 volts to the blower motor. So when it works only on high speed there is a 99.9% chance that the blower motor resistor is shorted or blown and needs to be replaced I have a 99 grand am as well and I have heat but it only works on setting 5. I replaced the resistor last night and it was horrible(broken, melted, discolored) Put the new one in and still no heat on any setting but 5. I am going to replace the climate control panel to see if that is the issue in my car. If you have no heat you may want to consider adding antifreeze. Sometimes the grand am's have bad coolant sensors.
Why does my 99 silverado have no heat and the ac fuses look good and blower motot works great
Sounds very much like the speed switch may be faulty, or the ocntacts need cleaning.
If you are referring to the blower motor only working on the high speed setting, then the problem is the blower motor Resistor Pack is defective. Replace it. It can be the blower motor speed control switch but not likely.
yes it does.. an strangely had a very different result that what i expected in an air-conditioning system. faster the blower speed, higher the temperature (hotter air 14*C) output. when the blower speed was at low, the temperature output was much cooler(cooler air 7*C) not really sure if it is properly proven but i feel its due to the lack of time in exchange of heat from the atmospheric air to the refrigerant when the blower speed is on HIGH. the heat exchange time when blower speed is slow is more an hence more then heat transfer and cooler temperatures! anyone agree on this?
my 1999 winstar was doing this and it was the blend door
There is a little motor, a fan, and coils. These coils heat up with the motor causing heat that heat is then pushed by the fan into the direction you want it.
check coolant level
Could be, heater blower motor has failed. blower motor fuse is burned out. blower motor speed resistor is burned out. blower motor switch is bad. or, if the blower motor works but you have no heat it could be, cooling system is low on coolant. thermostat is stuck open. heater core is plugged. temp blend door actuator is faulty.
Assuming level 5 is high speed, the blower motor speed resister is burned out. This part is available at your local auto parts store. ^^ Thank you that's exactly what it was :) Works like a champ now! :D
