Ok..I figured it out. Turns out the rear defroster is the problem. When I unplugged it from the back windshield, blower/heater works great!! So...to all those out there..if your blower motor blows fuses...check the blower motor first...then the HVAC and heater fuses, then rear defroster if you have a cavalier!

When the blower motor stays on it means there is a short to power, or the relay is sticking. 99.9% of the time the relay sticks. I belive on the 2004 silverados the blower motor relay is internal to the blower motor resistor. Try to find an auxillary blower motor relay and if there isn't one then replace the blower motor resistor.

AnswerIf none of the speeds work check fuses and the power at the blower motor. Since blower motors work most of the time, the blower motors do burn out. If it works on high speed only, then the blower resistor behind the glove box is possibly bad. MarkCheck the ground to the motor. Best thing to do is ground the motor and see if it works. I have seen this problem before and putting a different ground on it fixed it.

If you have checked the blower motor and it does function when power is applied then I would suspect the Blower Motor Resistor Pack is defective. It is also possible the blower motor speed control is bad, but highly unlikely.
