it is vacuum vavle controled by engine temperature. mostly used until engine gets up to normal operating temperature, or after the engine gets to normal operating temperature. depending on what is hooked up to the vavle. i hope this helps Answer your question.
a bad oil pressure sending unit.
The W stands for Winter. 15w40 is flows as 15 weight oil in the cold temperatures and 40 weight oil when it gets to full operating temperature.
no
An Exothermic or cold blooded creatures internal temperature fluctuates with it external temperature.
Between 180 and 210 degrees. It is safe to operate an engine normally above about 112 degrees. Before it gets to that temperature you should be soft on the accelerator. The red zone on the temperature gauge is usually around 240-245 or so. Getting the engine that hot can be harmful to it.
If the squealing noise is coming from the drive belts, perhaps they need to be replaced or one of the accessories has bad bearings and is seizing up when it gets hot.
It gets hotter
The Toyota Prius gets 51 mpg highway 48 mpg city.
It means that your temperature is dropping.
You didn't say if it stalled once the temperature got to operating temp. I believe the 1990 Aerostar has the old style coil, at least mind did. Sometimes when a coil goes it operates fine when cold, but quits when it gets hot. Wotth checking.
