Why does my jeep shut off when engine gets hot?
Your engine may be running in open loop due to a defective coolant temperature sensor, which on my 1991 Cherokee L6 is located on the thermostat housing. This is different from the coolant temperature sender, which is located at the rear of the valve head next on the driver's side.
Why does a 1997 Jeep Cherokee engine stop when the engine gets hot Have replaced the ignition coil and the pick up coil?
The cause is most likely " fuel line vapor lock" This is caused when the fuel line is too close to or improperly insulated from the heat of the engine. When the engine runs and gets hot, the heat effects the fuel in the fuel line by vaporizing the fuel before it gets to the engine. The fuel is not liquid like it should be when it gets to the engine. A quick check to…
1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo - Why is your radiator fan not working and your AC blowing warm air after the engine gets to hot?
When you get the car going temperature gauge is normal but when you shut it off the tiny stick touches the light why is that?
What would cause a 93 jeep Cherokee to have white or gray smoke only when it runs for awhile gets very hot and smells like something burning?
This is a common problem for Cherokee's there is not enough ventilation for the engine, I had a friend buy aftermarket hood vents and cut them into the hood, The engine heat causes the fuel bar to vapor lock and slowing or stopping the flow of fuel to the engine. I am not a mechanic, this is just from past experience.
A: AIR conditioning on a car is a load on the engine. The load is constant as long as the AC is on. So yes turning off the AC does help the motor, There is another factor that you must know the AC should be run occasionally to eliminate AC troubles later on. If the engine is small on a very hot day climbing a long hill it should be shut off for the climb…
Is there carpet in it? If not, that little tranny and engine puts off a lot of heat, that could be the main reason. Might need to check the fluid in your tranny or engine too, could be getting low, and if it's 108 degrees outside that could be it too. See if the fluids are ok, and if so... you'll love it this winter. :-)
More than likely the coil is breaking down and needs to be replaced. The other things that could cause this is that there may be debris under the engine cover that is keeping the cooling fins from blowing air accross the cylinder head. This will make the engine get hotter than normal and shut it down. If you remove the metal engine cover it should be obvious if this is the problem.
The Diesel cycle engine was named after the German engineer who invented it, Rudolf Diesel. A Diesel engine uses two principles: air gets hot when you compress it, and fuel will ignite if it gets hot enough. The engine compresses air introduced into the cylinder to a very high pressure. When fuel is injected it immediately ignites.
Oil pressure gauge is wiggle when engine running hot. Could be oil pressure switch defective or the oil pump?
the engine gets hot and while your engine is running your oil is going through your engine lubbing it. by the time the engine gets hot the oil is spread throughout the engine. if you have too much oil in the gauge will act weird because its hooked up to your oil to read its pressure. if it was youroil pump or switch it would do this when the engine was cold to. make sure…
