Oil filter may be installed too loose or too tight. Also, the gasket may not have been lubricated prior to installation. Remove the old filter, clean the mounting surface with a clean rag, and install a new one. Apply a coat of oil to the gasket before installation of new filter. Tighten it 3/4 turn after making contact with the mounting surface. No more or no less. Do this and it will not leak.
