Something is on. Any Light, stuck relay, etc. Even the ECU and clock will pull a very small amount of power. If the spark is large enough for you to see then something other than the ECU and clock is on.

How do you Unfreeze a TI-83 Not Plus Calculator?

Try removing the batteries, if that doesn't work did the calculator come with a cable connecting it to the computer? (If it does plug this into the computer and it should hopefully un-freeze)

How do you jump start a dead battery on a 2008 beetle?

You have to have two battery jumper cables. One cable connects to the Bettle battery plus connector and the plus side of the battery in a (engine running) jumpstart car. The other cable connects to the jumpstart car negative battery connector and the bettle minus battery connector. It is important to let the donor car charge the Bettle battery for ten to fiftenn minutes because most jumper cables are poor quality and size to immediately supply all the current to the Bettle starter by themselves. Give the Bettle battery a while to charge and let it help the cranking process.

How do you jumpstart a car?

Connect jumper cables from well charged battery or another running car 's battery - plus post to plus post and minus post of the good battery to a solid metal part of the car with the dead batter- AWAY from the battery. When you make the last connection, you may get a spark. Batteries sometimes give off hydrogen gas that can be exploded by that spark. Allow 5 minutes or more for some current to flow into the weak battery , then try to crank the dead car. When removing the cables, remove the one that goes to solid metal first.

How do you hook up a battery to a 78 Chevy?

There are 4 places to connect the battery - To the Starter, the chasis and to the battery 1) The RED thick cable that goes to the big bolt and screw attached to the starter which is on the the same side as the battery below the exhaust manifold - left and center from the front of the vehicle and beneath the # 3 spark plug wire (***caution *** do this while engine is COLD) 2) The BLACK cable should (normally) attach to the top of the alternator on the top - or engine block - this is the negative ground - To the Battery 3) The black cable attaches to the MINUS "-" (Negative, aka "Neg") terminal. 4) The red cable attaches to the PLUS "+" (Positive, aka. "Pos") terminal. NOTE: Alot of cables have other connections on them ie., grounds etc. accessory items. If your black cable for example, has an extra small black wire on it - it too needs to be attached to the same place or near by to the chasis (grounded) Good Luck. LBB90210 red cable should go to starter or starter relay black cable should go to ground on the engine block

Polarizing a generator on a sportster?

Remove all cables from the generator. Connect battery's + (plus) to the generator's A and then connect battery's - (minus) to the generator's F (field) for a second. Might give a small spark, but that doesn't hurt anybody.

How can you jump start a 2006 Honda Shadow?

How do you replace Nissan Micra 1994 battery without knowing the positive and negatives?

Answer 1all batteries have a positive and negative labeled on them. One battery cable should be red and one black the red is positive! Answer 2 The rest of the storyAnswer 1 is correct, but IF you had to ask the question, then answer 1 is incomplete. The labeling on the battery to which answer 1 relates does not say "positive and negative." Instead, symbols are used, and they are embossed in raised symbols on the battery case, next to the terminals they identify. Since they are embossed in the battery case, they usually are NOT a different color, but are the same color as material of the battery case, and you have to really look for them. The positive battery terminal will be identified with a plus [+] symbol next to it, and the negative terminal will be identified with a minus [-] symbol next to it.Also, I think, the two terminals are very slightly different in size [diameter]. Genrerally, the positive terminal will be slightly larger than the negative. I think this was done to help prevent people from connecting the cables backward.Although you can put the slightly larger positive cable connector on the negative terminal on the negative terminal, the negative cable connector will not fit over the negative terminal on the battery. However, this does you no good, once you've incorrectly [reversed] touched the cables to a "hot" battery, which probably will instantly "fry" some of the delicate electronics of your vehicle. As mentioned in answer 1, the polarity of most battery cables are generally indicated by the color of the insulation jacket. Normal protocol 12 volt vehicle electrical systems is that a positive cable or wire will have a red color, and the negative will have a black colored insulation jacket. That is of course, unless someone who did not know what they were doing, replaced one or both of the cables with the wrong color! You can determine if the cable colors are correct by visually tracing them from their terminal connectors to where they go in the engine compartment. If correct, the black negative battery cable will go to a ring connector under a bolt head on the metal engine block. If correct, the red positive battery cable will go to either a solenoid relay mounted on [usually] on the inner fender near the battery, the firewall, or on the starter itself.Once you are certain that you know which battery terminal are positive and negative, AND which battery cables are positive and negative, then replacing the battery is simply a matter of loosening the terminal clamp bolts, removing the NEGATIVE clamp/cable from the battery first, then the postivive clamp/cable.Then remove the old battery, clean all accumulation of dust, dirt, from the battery tray and terminals, and install the new battery. Then clean the cable clamp connectors with a "terminal brush," and install the cables.Intall the POSITIVE cable FIRST, and the NEGATIVE cable last. If there is a safety cover on the positive terminal, replace it over the positive cable clamp.
