How do you adjust the emergency brake on your 2001 S10 Chevy?
pull the shaft

First I would have the rear rotors removed to inspect the emergency brake shoe's and rotor for wear. Sometimes people are known to drive with the emergency brake engaged which will wear the shoe and rotor. If they are still within specs, there is an adjustment on the shoe's

it is a 1995 Chevy blazer and it will not go into park. have to use the emergency brake when stopped, and neutral to start it
Partially engaged and you will burn you rear brake shoes/pads up. Fully engaged the car will not move.
