Why does the people of wales like Diana?
she proved to them, that just because she's royality, she can touch people who are sick and get her hands dirty. she was the people's princess.
because the "princess of wales" name belonged to Diana and that's what they called her: Diana, princess of wales or Princess Diana. so camilla (the woman who should probably take half the blame for ruining Diana's life), doesn't want to be "disrespectful", so she goes by the other names that Diana had but was never called, like duchess of Cornwall.
Diana did little for Wales- she earned the title 'Princess of Wales' by dint of having married Prince Charles, whose title is 'Prince of Wales'. However, she showed little interest in the nation or it's people during her Royal marriage- occasionally she toured the Welsh Valleys, or opened some centre for disabled or homeless people during her marriage to Charles, but she never bothered with Wales after they divorced, and never even bothered to learn…
Princess Diana's full name was Diana Frances Spencer. At the time of her death, she was referred to as Diana, Princess of Wales; she in fact was not given the title "Princess" alone. Diana is often referred to as Lady Diana Spencer rather than Diana, Princess of Wales, due to the tradition of referring to deceased women by their maiden name and title.
