i dont know but i have the same problem. it sound like it un locks but i just won't open when you try it. Were just gonna take her to a shaop and ask/get her fixed, then post the answer to how to fix this from the mechanics mouth...
Begin by removing the inside door panel on your 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager. Remove the door lock linkage. Remove the door lock retaining bolts. The door lock will come out.
You should be able to get at the mounts from the inside of the rear fender
There is a small plug on the inside panel, remove it and there is a release lever inside the door.
On a 1997 Plymouth Voyager, the relay for the rear wiper is found under the hood. It is in the fuse housing on the passenger side.
A 1990 Plymouth Voyager is a ( front wheel drive vehicle )

To unlock the rear door ???just push the unlock button on the drivers side door on the in side and it will unlock all doors and the rear door also. then Just pill on the outside rear door handle and it will open., push the button 2 times to unlock all doors.
This assembly is housed inside the rear door, just below the glass(rear window). Access is gained by removing the door panel & moldings from the inside with the door open. Like side doors don't expect easy access, but rather a hole that you must reach into to work.
There are two screwed into the exhaust on the rear of the engine.
