You have a wiring issue or a bad brake light bulb.
Your Brake light is a warning light, it means something is wrong with your brakes, first you should check your pads for wear (if you feel a grinding sound every time you press the brakes they are shot), sometimes brake pads have wear indicators (a wire that when the pad wears surfaces closing a circuit and turning the light on), another possibility is low brake fluid level. Another yet is that one of the circuits has failed (there are two), If all these checks do not give you an answer, take it to a specialized brake shop, you don´t want to suffer the failure of your brakes when least expected, NEVER save mone on brakes, they are the most important system in your car.
Press the reset button
When you say the "light on dash" I am assuming your brake warning light. This can be a number of things, not your brake lights. A quick easy check is your fluid level in your master cylinder. A low fluid level will the light come on. When you press your brakes, the fluid level will drop (fluid travelling to the four brakes), when you release the brake fluid is drawn back into the master cylinder. I would check that first.
press down firmly on the brake pedal and keep holding down the brake pedal
its not a warning sign, its the shift button. just press the shift button on the gear box.
Reset the exhaust emission warning light by turning the ignition on and off 40 times. Light codes can be read by the old brake/accelerator press and turn the ignition on.
you have a short in light switch replace light switch
My 94 940 does the same thing. One or more of the bulb contacts is dirty or not making strong enough contact in the socket.
a. the fire alarm system should start beeping b. the light should illuminate c. the fire alarm warning bells should sound d. none of the above
It means one of rear lights is out or have too high resistance. You need to ask somebody to press brake pedal while you are checking out rear lights. If all of them work you will have to remove each of them and clean contacts with sand paper.
Might be a bad wheel bearing assembly
press the brakes and then press the start/stop button
