Since water is a polar molecule and this means that there is a lot of forces of attraction.

Also because the hydrogen bonds in the water molecule require a lot of energy to break, hence the water have a high boiling point, melting point, and heat of vaporization too.

it has such a high boiling point because the electronic bond is so strong on it, the temperature has to get hotter to break the bond. the high the electionic strength the higher the temp has to be to break it

Water is a polar molecule.

It is made of two Hydrogen atoms and an Oxygen atoms. Oxygen is a more electronegative atom, (i.e. It has a stronger attraction for electrons) thus it tends to pull electrons away from the hydrogens. This means the electrons spend more time around the Oxygen atom, giving it a slight negative charge, while the Hydrogens are left with a slight positive charge. Because unlike electrical charges attract, one molecule of water is attracted to another (i.e. The positive hydrogen of one H2O molecule is attracted to the negative oxygen atom of another H2O molecule) forming a hydrogen bond. Because of this bond it takes more heat energy to overcome these bonds and turn the liquid of H2O into a gas.

The electronic bond is strong on a high boiling point causing the water to have a high boiling point. The temperature has to get warmer to break the bond. The higher the electronic strength, the higher the temperature has to break the bond.

It is mainly due to the intermolecular forces between molecules which is hydrogen bonding in the case of water. H-bonding is the strongest intermolecular force possible, and so it takes more energy (heat) to break those bonds.

Because the bond between the O atom and H atom is very polar and the shape of the molecule is in a bent configuration (think a Mickey Mouse hat from Disney World) this places the center of the partial positive charge between the two H atoms and the corresponding partial negative charge on the O atom itself. Since these charges are not in the same place, water is said to be a polar substance. This means that the partial negative charge on the O will attract the partial positive charge from the H's from a different molecule of water. This attraction most be overcome in order to turn the liquid into a gas. This attraction is known as hydrogen bonding.

Water has a boiling point, because, that is the temperature where it gets so hot, it turns to gas. Water can either be a liquid, gas or a solid. People want to known the temperatures so they can know how hot, or cold, it needs to be to turn into something else. Cooks certainly want to know water's boiling point, when making something with boiling water, such as tea or coffee.

This means that the partial positive hydrogens are attracted to the negative oxygens on neighboring water molecules. This makes them "stick" together, thus raising the boiling point.
