Because your resolution is set too low.
Reset it to a higher resolution and the banner will not tske up as much screen space.

If it is an lcd screen which I'm assuming it is then one of the lamps in the back of the screen has probable blown which is causing it to appear dark. or you could have damaged something else inside of it but that is usually the problem that occurs with a half back washed out screen.

On current Kennedy Half Dollars it is located within the banner above the eagle on the reverse. On Franklin halves it's to the left of the bell. On Walking Liberty halves it's to the left of the eagle. On Barber halves, it's within the banner in the eagle's beak. It's not on Seated Liberty halves. On Capped Bust halves it is located within the banner above the eagle, but that banner does not appear on all dates. On Draped Bust halves from 1801 to 1807, it's within the banner that goes across the eagle. It does not appear on earlier halves.

Well, the top screen is about three inches. The bottom screen is exactly two and a half inches. But only the top screen uses the 3D affect.
