Hi, this problem is caused by bad bulbholder earthing in the lamp units. The light, usually a brake lamp tries to earth back through the wiring loom instead of the body and creates strange effects on other light circuits. A common one is putting the brake lights on puts out the sidelights on the rear. Fit a separate earth wire from the bulbholder (the bit that clips in to the unit) straight to the body close by.
If your handbrake is on or if the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your engine compartment is LOW , the " brake " light in your dash will light up
check your brake fluid and if that's ok your brake pads'Answer:If the light says "Brake Lamp", it means you have a tail light bulb that needs to be replaced.
If your ABS emergency brake light and the track control light show up on the dashboard, you are having a brake problem.
There is an electircal switch that 'senses' when the emergency brake lever is applied and lights a warning light on the dashboard to keep you from driving in this condition. This switch may be faulty or out of adjustment, causing the warning light on the dashboard to turn on.
I'd check the sensor for the emergency brake. It's probably faulty.
Most likely it is either the brake light switch, under the dashboard, connected to the brake pedal or the turn signal switch inside the steering column.
I have noticed that if the brake fluid is low enough in the brake fluid master cylinder it will cause the light to come on when turning left. before it comes on for a low fluid problem because of the fluid shifting.
Your emergency brake is to tight on the back brakes, which is not allowing the ABS to work properly. that's why both lights are on. Good Luck
Problem with the anti-lock brake system. Take it to a pro. I would try replacing the brake light bulb in the high brake light located in front of the rear window. If the bulb is blown this will also make the cruise control not work, and the ABS light will come on from it. I am not sure if this is true for all of the brake lights or not, but it is worth a shot before seeing a pro.
No , the brake light should come on when you press the parking brake pedal , but the ABS light should not come on
The switch at the parking brake in the cab needs adjustment, just loosen the retaining nut and move it closer to the pedal then tighten.
Yes , the " BRAKE " light in your dash will come on if the brake fluid is low or your emergency / parking brake is engaged
