Anorexia sufferers usually don't have enough energy to keep warm, when the body does not have enough energy to keep warm, its tries any way to keep at 37C. Other ways may be shivering etc. but one of the last resorts is growing downy hair ,like that which premature babies may have when born, in order to preserve as much heat as it can near the body.
