sounds like the resistor board has blown, on the highest setting it has no resistors, hence the reason it still works

I would first recommend getting the Chilton manual. I did the heater core on my wife's 96 Blazer. It is a very involved process and should only be attempted if you are a fairly knowledgeable mechanic. You have to remove the instrument cluster and drop the steering column to start. The Chilton manual covers this fairly well. Dennis

My 2001 Chevy Blazer was blowing cold air when I had the heat on. My husband flushed the line to the heater core and a bunch of junk came out and now my heat works great. Because the resistor between the heater swithch and the heater motor is not functioning. Usually mounted on, in or near the heater enclosure. Its a common repair, and can be done by the do-it-yourselfer.

try replaceing the switch that controls the low to high for heater It's gonna be the blower motor resistor (near the blower motor).

Only if it is allowing Fluid to escape. Does the radiator and heater core have enough fluid to circulate. If not you will not have heat.
