why does oil light come on Oil level is low, pressure is low do to plugged filter or worn engine, or sensor is bad.
Normally caused by failed oil pressure sensor. It is located on the back of the block.
A faulty oil pressure sending unit, worn bearings, worn oil pump, idle to low,
Check the engine oil, sometimes when the oil is low the check engine light comes on while sitting still and goes out when you accelarate.
I just replaced mine and now the oil light does not come on during idle. What is you question? If your asking where it is, its buy the oil filter and oil pump.
Because it is burning oil. If it does it constantly, it's time for a ring job. If it does it mainly only after sitting at idle for a little while (like at a traffic light) then stops, it's time for valve stem work.
The most common reason for the oil pressure light to come on when your vehicle is idling, is low oil. Check your engine oil and make sure the oil is up to the full mark on the dipstick.
The viscosity of your oil may affect the oil light. A light weight oil (5W30) can trip the sensor. If you notice the problem at idle, try switching to a heavier oil next time you change.
have the oil sending unit tested Thanks it was the sending unit sensor
Idle may be too low, or it has low oil pressure. Make sure you are using the correct weight oil and a quality filter.
A few reasons, low oil pressure, oil pump is bad, may need to change your oil and reset your computer, + more. Q- How much oil pressure do you have?
Have they checked the oil pressure sending unit? How about the wire leading from the unit to the gauge?
To much oil in an engine can cause it to flood which will then lead to blowing seals. But it should not effect how the car idles.
