Why does your the Sims 3 crash?

You should close all other programs while playing Sims 3. If that didn't work you should try change your screen resolution to the same settings that The Sims 3 game has, if that didn't work either you should try playing the game in windowed mode. Don't forget to go to the Sims 3 file location and right-click on the gamelauncher and TS3 file and click on properties then choose compatibility and check the "Run as administrator" box, and also make sure you check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose "Windows 95" and click "apply" or "OK". If your game still freezes you can just open the cheats bar (Ctrl-Shift-C) and type : resetSim * . You HAVE to add the * after the space! Or else it won't work!

If nothing above had helped you solve your problem you should just contact EA on their website, and hopefully they could help you.

PS!! : If you have sims 3 expansion packs and/or stuff packs you HAVE to check "run as administrator" and choose "windows 95" like i said before.. to ALL sims 3 games you have!!

Check your system requirements if your installing. Or if you've already installed it, and have downloaded content in the game, two downloads may be conflicting. The final probability is that you may have a virus on your computer.

after you scan your computer and fix out all the downloads and it still doesnt work, i suggest you call EA or call a friend that's excellant with computers.

These are the main reasons why...

1. There are some Sims that crash your game. Example: Mrs Crumple-bottom

2. Your hardrive is out of memory space. Each time you make a new family/ Download items for your game it takes up more space in your computer so it is forced to crash the game.

3. Sometimes the Sims 2 give a virus to your computer and makes your shut down the game.

4.Your computer just cant handle the Sims 2

5. Some items crash your game or bringing some Sims back to life can too.

6. sometimes it depends on what type of computer/software your using

7. Some updates can ruin you game.

the game worked perfectly for the first time, but the second time i loaded the game up it went really slow so i quit and restarted the game. this time it was working fine then the game screen went black and went back to my desktop, with a message saying not enough memory to play. So i went and freed up 1GB of space but it crashed again (going back to the desktop) but the message didn't show. Please can someone give some advice it was working fine once.

It Depends on your settings and hardware also the software version and the other factors such as the temperature which might slow down the hardware if it getting too hot. Sorry for my bad English. :)

Usually it means you need to install some updates, or the game is not compatible with your computer. If you have checked both of these, it may be a faulty disk.

Maybe because there is a message on the computer or you accidently pressed a button that is not available on the keyboard for the game.

Maybe you have a scratched or damaged disc. Also check the recent things you have installed on your computer.
