Most pilot-less stoves with electronic ignitions have lighting positions on the knobs. The click does not stop automatically when the flame ignites. The user must continue to turn the knob to a cooking flame-height position to stop the clicking.

Did you just clean the stove, or did something overflow? Water on the little electric igniter can cause it to repeatedly fire. When this happens, dry off ALL of the igniters and the area around them. It may take a while for the last dampness to evaporate, so don't expect instant results.

What would cause a ticking and dash lights diming flashiing the ticking is present even when the ignition is off?

look for a shorted electric motor like window motor. when the motor contacts fail they can cause the "ticking" and it drains the power constantly, even when the ignition is off.

How can you keep the home warm in winter?

Most homes (at least in cold climates) are heated by furnaces. If there is no furnace, some people use a Franklin stove. And the oldest technique is simply a fireplace. Electric space heaters are another possibility. And in a pinch, even a cooking stove can be used for heat.

Do you have to have a 220 v outlet even though you have a gas stove in michigan?

No, but if you ever switch to an electric stove you will have problems getting a 240 volt circuit to that location. I would go ahead and install a 240 volt outlet at that location if this is new construction. Costs very little and you will be all set for the future.

What are the advantages of using an electric knife?

The electric frying pan can be a life saver if your stove is on the fritz and you are waiting for a landlord to replace it. They are also great to have, freeing up stove top space when preparing multiple items (eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon and hashbrowns). It is also a help if one lives in an efficiency apartment. Anything you can do on a stove you can do in an electric frying pan.

Can you put a ceramic pot on a flat top electric stove?

Most experiments here do not end well. It is possible, however, if the pot is put on a room-temp stove, and heated simultaneously with the stove burner. When finished with the hot pot, set it back down on the hot burner, and turn the burner off so that they cool together. Even grabbing the hot pot with a cool utensil will cause cracking, as it is the temperature difference that causes the ceramic to crack.

Why does my electric stove have power but burners don't work?

Each element has its own fuse. They are located in the vertical section at the rear of the elements. There is a removable panel on the front side of the vertical section usually held on with two thumb screws. Remove this cover and check the fuses.

Why are some people so adamantly opposed to cooking on electric cooktops?

Most people find that a gas stove heats much more quickly and evenly than an electric cook top. Since electricity must pass through the wound coil on an electric model, heat is not distributed as efficiently and may effect cooking time or even how good a saute or other heat sensitive item may turn out.
