From a Christian point of view: The Apostle Paul said at 1 Corinthians 13:8-10: "Love never fails. But if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with. For we have partial knowledge and we prophesy partially, but when what is complete comes, what is partial will be done away with."
"When what is complete" most likely refers to the completed Bible. The Bible is God's way of talking to man and prayer is our way of talking to Him. Once the Bible was complete, there was no more communication directly from God. History has shown that communication directly with God did not have the effect you would think it would have. Even those who talked directly to God still disobeyed him. Because of this, faith in the unseen has become more important. Hebrews chapter 11 describes the role faith now plays in worship and compares it to faithful actions that were done by several individuals who lived before Jesus' time.
1) In the olden days, people were not tested so much as to whether they believed. Everyone believed; it was universal. No ancient society has ever been found that did not believe in a higher power. Rather, the test was how they would express that belief.
For that reason, God's communicating with prophets did not preclude free-will. People chose whom or what to worship.
Today, belief itself is in question. Genuine prophecy could either impinge upon our free-will, or be cheapened through lack of people's reaction.
2) God doesn't need to repeat His messages or demonstrate His existence endlessly. He already did that, leaving us with the choice as to how to relate to His words.
he can we us but we cant here him. he is dead.

Many believe that God does not exist, and if God does not exist he can never really talk to you.

God does speak to women. It's just not as widely heard of as the men. God speaks to whoever he wants to. ~*Answered by a Mormon*~
Oh yes he did speak to many other people beside Moses.. They were the major and minor prophets.
Yes, and He speaks today to anyone willing to act on his revealed truth in the bible.
Listening for God is usually done in a quiet secluded place. Even if you were in this situation, just to sit and hope that God will speak to you does not ofter occure. One must have a reason for God to speak personally to you. God does not usually do this, this is what the Holy Spirit is for. It is he who will tell you by a still small voice or by a sensation within you what God has for you. As an added piece of knowledge God has given all power to His son Jesus Christ to act on His behalf. So if anyone does speak to you it will be Christ.
idk no but if you think about it that's a harsh question, anyone who's a terrorist must come from down below (if you know what i mean) so why would they want to speak to someone as great as god.
no it doesnt

The Bible is God
