First, RCA brand audio systems are not reliable - never have been. So, if it is old it may have more than one problem going on.
Rain/water can cause permanent damage, but mostly it does not. However, you must expect at least one week for the moisture to dry out of all the micro places.
Based on your description of the indications I would judge that letting it dry out for a few days may bring it back to life, but if not, let me know further any symptoms and I will research more deeply for you.
In particular, explain in detail what you mean by "has trouble reading disks". Also, tell me if you are getting any audio at all and if not are there any sounds coming out of the speakers?
If you have a factory CD player, an old aftermarket CD player, or a cheap aftermarket CD player it most likely is not CD-R compatible or your music is in a format that the player doesn't support such as; AAC, WMA, and a few others. Your only option would be to get a new CD player that is compatible with mp3 cds, or if your stereo supports an external CD changer(alot of radios do, even factory radios) you can get a CD changer that supports mp3 cds, or just live with only listening to regular cds in your car.
To get a better idea of your options you should go to your local car audio shop and talk to them about your issue.
Also there is a possibility that you have a defective disk, burner, or had a problem when your disk was burned(happens alot). Try the disk in another player(not a computer).
Aftermarket= did not come on the car originally.
CD-RWs have less reflectivity that Cd-Rs or CDs, so cars many times can't read them. Try using CD-Rs.
Not all DVD players will play a CD.
It is CD-ROM and it means Compact Disc - Read Only Memory For DVD-ROM it is Digital Video Disc - Read Only Memory
A single-session disc (CD-ROM-Read-Only Memory) can read but not write (record) or erase. Manufacturers write all items on the single-session disc at one time, and multisession disc (CD-RW-Compact Disc-Rewritable) is an erasable disc you can write on multiple times.
You can't put a PS1 disc in your PC, it depends if your computer allows video game systems
No. CD-r (Compact Disc-Recordable) is a Write Once Read Many (WORM) optical medium. You can only write once, though the whole disk does not have to be entirely written in the same session. If you want to reuse a disc, use a CD-rw (Compact Disc ReWritable)
Most modern sophisticated software is to big to fit on a single floppy disc/diskette.It is simpler to burn a single CD than to create multiple diskettes. package and distribute them. Most modern computers do not have the ability to read a floppy disc.
Compact Disc CD is Compact Disc. ROM is Read-Only Memory. This is a manufactured CD that can only be read, not written.
CD ROM Means compact disc read-only memory Compact Disc
A compact disc player could read no disc because there is no disc in the player. It could also read no disc because the disc in not compatible or readable.
Regular home stereos would be unable to play Mp3 files, if you were to burn them to a data disc and just insert it into the stereo. MP3's are a computer format, a stereo is not a computer, it can only read a CD if specially prepared, in the right format.Instead you need to use disc authoring software to specifically burn it as an Audio CD, which will be in a format the stereo will recognise.
An Audio CD is a type of CD that has audio files on it that can be read by a CD player like a stereo
CD
Try temporally disconnecting the ground cable off the battery, the stereo may reset itself and spit out the disc.
Playing a CD requires a CD player. Then just insert the disc and press play!
If the CD Player will not read the CD then either there is something wrong with the CD or the CD player or the CD or CD player needs to be cleaned.
No a PS3 can read a CD DVD or Blu Ray disc and can not write or change a disc of any kind
