The speed sensor for a 1996 Geo Tracker is located on the transmission housing. The speed sensor is important , it keeps track of the tires and delivers the figures to the main system
There is a gear positioning sensor on the transmission. Some go bad and need to be replaced. When they go bad they signal that the transmission is in drive or reverse when you are in park and does not allow you to start the car. Try starting in neutral, if that doesnt work then you will need to replace this part.
there isn't one
It's bolted to the back of the cylinder head (right side when facing engine) inside a casing....it has an electrical connector on it and it's attached to this casing by one bolt. Unplug the electrical connector, unbolt the sensor and replace in reverse...
i have a 2001 Chevy tracker and i just replaced the crank sensor. i have been having a problem with mine not cranking. i would drive it and cut it off. it would not crank up until after it sat for a while. the crank sensor has not fixed the problem though. you have to take the tranmission out and take the flywheel off. the sensor is behind it. hopes this helps. i got a sensor at napa for about $100. advance auto parts wanted about $174 for it i think
Not sure what the question is. What, Where etc...
