Ocean water has a lot of salt water and is polluted from natural and human caused sources. We can drink ocean water, but, it has to be cleaned and desalinated. This is expensive, but, since fresh, clean water is often limited, it is often done.

Because when the water beats off of the rocks, it makes salty. Too much salt for a human is bad! It also taste really bad.

2nd Answer:

Salt water will make a person die a horrible death over time.

Salt water is salty from the salt brought thousands of miles, all added up, by streams, tributaries, and rivers in tiny amounts. Once this salt is in the ocean, it cannot leave, so the ocean gets saltier and saltier over the years. It is not salty from beating off the rocks. When you think of how immense the oceans are, it is silly to think it would get salty from a few beach rocks . . . and if the oceans were dissolving salt from the beach rocks, they would eventually disappear, wouldn't they. But they don't.
