you may have a blockage on that line.
Ruptured wheel cylinder--needs to be replaced Chances are brakes have been soaked with fluid and need to be replaced Good idea to replace both sides and bleed system
are u sure u dont have air brakes Even if he has air brakes, there is still hydraulic fluid in the system.
Fill brake reservior to full and keep full thru out bleeding.Have someone pump brakes about 5 times and hold to floor, get clear hose and attach to bleeder screw on passenger rear, then driver rear, then passenger rfront, then driver front.Have other end of hose in glass container with brake fluid, open bleeder screw and watch for air coming out, continue until no more air is seen coming out, dont reuse brake fluid, discard.
the 97 escort has a hydraulic clutch. it uses brake fluid from the same system as the brakes. i dont think there is any adjustment possible. check your brake fluid level.
you dont you bleed and adjust the brakes
NO! Dont mix them and dont swap them; they are very different and will cause massive damage.
AnswerThis is a two person job. First, locate bleeders on the back of the wheels.loosen them first but DONT BREAK THEM. Tighten them back up then have someone else pump brake peddle until stiff and then hold. Then, loosen bleeder to let air out. Repeat until only fluid comes out. Check fluid level in master cylinder then repeat for each wheel. Start with rear passenger side then rear driver, front passenger, the front driver. Check fluid level after each wheel.
check your brake fluid in the reservoir and be sure it is topped off, most corollas have a sensor in the reservoir to detect low fluid level which can happen over time as your brakes wear. I dont think it is a stuck switch for the parking brake since the light for it is usually a (p) but if it is not you may need to check it as well.
Unscrew the brake line from the drum or the caliper. Dont let the brake fluid drain. Have some one step on the brake pedal and while it is gushing out fit it back on and screw it tight. There are one person bleeders which suck the brake fluid through so you don't need another person. These look like a kidney with a tube and they are available at auto part stores.
I have had bikes with disk and regular brake pads. Disk brakes dont squeak like regular brake pads and stop you much shorter. This is why disk brakes are more expensive.
if you slam on the brakes hard then the wheels dont lock up
Check the brake light fuse first. Then check for a bad brake light switch at the brake pedal.
